Early this morning I woke from a dream
I dreamt of a valley that I would never seen
A magical place in a faraway land
With a gingerbread house and a gingerbread man

He seemed to know me, to my surprise
The gingerbread man was incredibly wise

We walked through that valley and sat by a stream
He told me that nothing’s as bad as it seems
Nothing is perfect and nothing will last

And now as I lie here awake in my bed

And he said: “Sometimes life won’t go to plan, it happens.
If someone asks for help some day, it could be you, don’t turn away.”

That is what I learned from the gingerbread man
It was only a dream in a faraway land
But we can all learn from the gingerbread man.
